SICSS 2018 make all teaching and learning materials open-source
By Chris Burnage, Senior Marketing Executive, SAGE Ocean
In June this year, Duke University hosted the second annual Summer Institute in Computational Social Science (SICSS). Led by Matthew Salganik & Chris Bail—with a host of top speakers—this year saw seven partner locations join, run by the alumni of 2017 as lectures were live-streamed online. The SICSS gives junior social science researchers the opportunity to learn more about computational social science (CSS) in an in depth setting, from some of the leading proponents of computational methods.
Earlier this month, Matt Salganik announced on Twitter that all videos, slides, code, and group activities from SICSS will be available online as free to access resources! Whether, you're looking for a more concrete definition of the field, or interested in learning more about automated text analysis, there is a lot of excellent content available to you. A big thank you to Chris Bail and Matthew Salganik for making these free to access.
