As part of our ongoing commitment to our customers, several Sage Campus courses are being revamped for 2026. This includes significant updates to our eight How To Get Published courses to make them even more effective.
These revisions provided an opportunity to completely revisit the journal publishing cycle. We looked at the most important and challenging processes and milestones along the way and re-packaged our content in a way that would make the most sense for the first-time journal author.
The course updates include new videos featuring new experts from different continents, disciplines and professions. They cover hot topics including how to avoid predatory journals, how to optimize your article before submission, and how to join the community of peer reviewers for a journal of your choice. The speakers also provide tips on promoting your article on social platforms and how to write different types of articles depending on your audience.
After the revision, you will find the following How to Get Published courses on Sage Campus:
By refreshing and strengthening our course materials, we have made them clearer, more relevant, and better aligned with current research, emerging tools, and evolving policy requirements. One example is How to Write a Journal Article 2, which now provides guidance and actionable advice on developing supplementary resources such as data, graphics, podcasts, and videos, helping authors enrich their publications and deliver greater value to readers.
For early career scholars looking to increase the readership of their work, our dedicated course on Article Acceptance to Promotion now incorporates elements such as self-archiving, social media promotion and search engine optimization.
The course Submission and Final Touches now covers important points of action during and after submission, including vital tips that can prevent your article from being rejected right after it is received!
To top it off, we added content to the course Publishing for Impact, most importantly to provide a clearer link between the concepts of research impact and publication metrics (such as the Impact Factor). We have also provided more practical tips on activities you can undertake to communicate your impact. This serves also to strengthen the link between article promotion and impact creation.
