Videos: Sessions from the International Conference on Computational Social Science

June saw an important milestone at the intersection of data science and social science – the second International Conference on Computational Social Science. The conference, hosted by the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago, was itself a melding of two separate inaugural computational science conferences held the year before, the Computational Social Science Summit held at Kellogg and the International Conference on Computational Social Science hosted by Aalto University School of Science in Helsinki, Finland.The collaborate event this year featured a community of interdisciplinary researchers – academics, industry experts, open data activists, government agency workers, think tank analysts –explore questions critical to the future of applying computer science and big data techniques to social science research.While the conference is over, Kellogg is now hosting 37 different videos drawn from session hosted at the conference, ranging from sessions on political content analysis, at and music, and social contagion, as well as presentations by individuals such as network scientist Sandra González-Bailón, computer scientist Michael Kearns, and economist Sendhil Mullainathan.All of the videos are accessible below or by visiting the conference website HERE.
