Charles Vanover
Dr. Charles Vanover is a professor and playwright. His research interests focus on school leadership preparation, including serving as the second author in the five-year longitudinal evaluation of The National Comprehensive Center for Teacher Quality. At the University of South Florida St. Petersburg campus, he is the coordinator of the Educational Leadership Program and has contributed to the SunBay Digital Mathematics Project.
Vanover teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on data analysis and action planning skills necessary to leave improvement in K-12 schools. He has helped design more than 100 action plans for students in the USF education program, some of whom have gone on to serve as Assistant Principals and District leaders. Prior to joining USF faculty, Vanover worked for the Chicago Public Schools for eight years, before receiving a fellowship to study Educational Administration and Social Policy at the University of Michigan.
