Upcoming webinars from October to November from our award winning How to Do Research and Get Published webinars.

As we say goodbye to summer and head into autumn, we are excited to announce our final round of How to Do Research and Get Published webinars for the year!

To kick us off, our first webinar will break down the manuscript writing process into manageable steps, offering practical tips to get published in education journals. We will be joined by Dr Jordan Allison, Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Gloucestershire. Learn how to enhance your professional skills and make a significant impact in the education research community!

What does inclusive research look like in practice?  Kaitlynn Mendes, Professor of Sociology and Canada Research Chair in Inequality and Gender at Western University, Canada, alongside Stephanie Anne Shelton, Donald G. Tarbet Scholar in Education at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will be exploring some of the key decisions researchers make throughout the research process Join us for a practical conversation on conducting research that is thoughtful, rigorous, and responsive to the people and communities it seeks to understand.

Social science researchers often work in sensitive settings, with vulnerable populations, or in contexts where formal ethics approval may not be available or appropriate. Written by Adya Misra, Director of Research Integrity at Sage, and Rebecca Tapscott, Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in International Relations at the University of Glasgow, Sage’s new research ethics policy acknowledges these realities and encourages a thoughtful, context-sensitive approach to ethical research. Together with Rory Magrath, Editor-in-Chief of Sage Open, our expert panel will discuss the practical ethical questions researchers face throughout the research process.

Are you an early career researcher? Join us for a workshop specifically designed for early career researchers, offering a clear introduction to the essential steps of getting published. We will be joined by Dr. Barbara St. Pierre Schneider, Associate Editor for  Biological Research For Nursing, who will share practical tools to navigate the often-complex publication process, setting the stage for long-term scholarly success.

To round us off in November, we invite you to discover digital tools and platforms that can streamline your research workflow, from literature reviews and data analysis to citation management and collaboration. Timothy C. Guetterman, Associate Professor in the Mixed Methods Program at the University of Michigan, alongside Sergi Fàbregues, Associate Professor of Research Methods at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, will be introducing resources such as reference managers, data visualization software, and collaborative writing platforms in our final webinar of 2026.

We hope to see you in one (or more) of these webinars! And be on the lookout for our 2027 schedule (coming soon!)
